I'm coming!!!!

Well the day is coming SOOOO soon. 10 days to be exact. I will be making my grand entrance that day and I am SOOO excited to meet you all. Nonna will call everyone once I am here. :) So if you are not sure if you are on the list give her a call.

9 months!!!

I am still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. I now weigh almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and am more than 18 1/2 inches long. I am shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected my skin during my nine-month amniotic bath. I swallow both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of my first bowel movement. At the end of this week, I will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely I am in a head-down position.

Almost there!!!

Well it's almost time for everyone to see my beautiful face!!! Aren't you excited?!?!?! I know I am.

I am only 31 days away... unless Dr. C decides to bring me in this world a little early!!!

Thank you everyone who came to my shower! I love you all sooooo much. Can't wait to meet you all!

Sorry it has been so long since I have updated on here!

I have been so busy growing and working hard to get ready to meet everyone!!

Mom is now 8 months along. I am about 3 1/2 lbs now and about 16 inches long!!! Growing so fast now. We go see Dr. C on 08/23/2010. I promise to post after the appt.

Can't wait to see everyone on Sunday by the way~

I'm 6 months!!! :)

Well today marks the 6 month mark for me! I still really need to cook a little longer. I am ready to see you all but not ready quite yet.

Mom and I go see the doctor a week from today! We are really hoping he will schedule mom a sonogram this time. I know she is wanting to see me as well as I want to show her how much I am growing in here.

An update on me-I'm growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts me at just over a pound. I'm almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), I cut a pretty lean figure at this point, but my body is filling out proportionally and I'll soon start to plump up. My brain is also growing quickly now, and my taste buds are continuing to develop. My lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help my air sacs inflate once I hit the outside world. My skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Wow-o-Wow~~ That's a lot from last week. Mom checks out my growth every week on this cool website.

Well I have to go for now. I love you all and promise we will all meet soon!!!

UPDATE!!!!

Well hello all! I wanted to let everyone know that the doctor visit went great.

Mom got to hear my little heart hard at work... about 150 BPM Dr. C said. I can't wait to meet that man!!!

He also told mama that I am coming a little sooner thab expected. OCTOBER 4TH!!!! YAY!

Also I heard that Nona and Mama are planning Mama's baby shower. WOO HOO....

Here is an update in my world.....

I'm at the halfway mark. I weigh about 10 1/2 ounces now. I am also about 6 1/2 inches long from head to heel. The length of a banana! WOW. ( I know,more fruit references!!!) I am swallowing more theses days, which is good practice for my digestive system. I am also producing meconium , a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in my bowels, and mama will see it in my first soiled diaper. EWWWWWWWW.... Sorry mom!

Yay May!

Happy May everyone!!! Yes mommy is happy time is going by a little faster now!! Our Dr. appt is in 8days. Yipee.....

I am happy to report to Dr. C how everything is going in here. Hope everyone had a great mothers day. I know mama did.

Here's what's going on this week with me:

My sensory development is exploding! My brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that I may be able to hear everyone's voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to me, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you. I weigh about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. (Sorry about the fruit references Nona). My arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of my body now. My kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on myscalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on my skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Pickling??? EW! Mama likes pickles though but I don't want to turn into one!!!
